BRUCE A. BRENNAN BLOG FROM THE WORLD AND MY MIND
The news as I see it and the views as I want them.
December 26 is … National Whiners Day
I hope everyone had a fun and blessed Christmas party with their family, friends and loved ones. Happy New Year.
For all of you lucky recipients of Kindles, Nooks or other Ereaders be sure to order my books. I have three published to date with another work coming shortly. They are available at Amazon.com, Smashwords.com, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Apple and many other ebook sites. Just do a name of author search or a search by book title. That information is below. Help a struggling author.
Do you know what a Jewish woman’s favorite Whine is?
“What do you mean we ain’t going to Miami?”
Newt cannot even run in his home state. Paybacks are a bitch. After years of stepping on toes and fingers as he climbed over them up the political ladder, Newt is finding out those beneath him at one point, the ones that did not run and hide for a decade with their tails between their legs and their bank accounts open, are now the ones in power who have a long memory.
THE TIME IS DRAWING TO A CLOSE!
I am not a big NBA fan but this year, the season started just in time for Chicago sport fans. The Bulls were losing nearly the entire second half after a close first half in the nationally televised game. Derrick Rose was able to hit a fall away, finger-tip twenty footer under heavy defensive pressure to give the Bulls the lead with less than five seconds to go. The lead held up and the Bulls won to start the season at 1-0.
Unfortunately, another Chicago team followed in another nationally televised game. The Bears played the superior Packers in Green Bay. Save for the opening drive of the game, the Bears played well for the first 25 minutes of the game. Then, the Packers took over, convincingly defeating the Bears in every aspect of the game. It was the type of game I never thought the Bears had a shot at winning no matter how close they kept the score.
The Bears have one more game to play but it is meaningless. The Bulls have 65 more games to play; most will be meaningless until April. It is a traditional way to start the New Year, out with the bad, forget last year. It is time to start 2012 fresh with a new outlook and renewed hope.
Just a couple of thoughts I had and you should too or at least think about.
