He is no Tiger Woods, yet.

June 20 is … Ice Cream Soda Day

Once again the sportscasters for the PGA have anointed a young golfer as the heir apparent to Tiger Woods. This seems to happen every time someone under thirty wins a golf tournament. Usually, the person so anointed , sinks back into obscurity or at least into the middle of the pack. The alpha dog has never marked his ground.

This year’s United States Open at Congressional Country Club near Washington DC was won by a 22 year-old guy from Northern Ireland, Rory Mcllroy. He won in record fashion on a course the PGA set up poorly. The Open is usually won with a score of between +2 and -2. This year the winner was -16. More golfers were under par for the tournament than ever before.

Congratulations Rory Mcllroy for your U. S. Open win but I am not anointing you the next great golfer in the world just yet. Many men win Majors and sink into oblivion. I will have an Ice Cream Soda in your honor though.

John Walsh has fought the good fight ever since his six year-old son, Adam was abducted and murdered in 1981. He is about to make a career move. John Walsh has said goodbye and thanked viewers of "America's Most Wanted" for helping bring almost 1,200 fugitives to justice over more than two decades.

Walsh told his audience in brief farewell remarks: "You've saved lives and gotten people justice." The series aired its last weekly episode on Fox on Saturday. Fox has cited high production costs for pulling the plug on the series, which premiered in 1988. But Walsh vows he'll return to television. He said earlier this week he has heard from other networks, including Fox News Channel. A decision on a new TV home could be announced within two weeks, he said.

Walsh, 65, launched his crime-busting crusade in the aftermath of the abduction and murder of his 6-year-old son Adam in 1981.

Since cost is an issue and reality shows are all the rage because they are cheap to produce, turn America’s Most Wanted into a reality show. Offer a reward for a murderer dead or alive, get five teams of contestants and film their actions. The ratings would be through the roof.

Why are we showing our stupidity to the world by even acknowledging Pakistan existence. It would not exist if we cutoff its allowance. In return, the Pakistan government historically, currently and constantly extends its collective middle finger to America. We just do not get it and Pakistan will continue its behavior until it is punished or obliterated.

U.S. officials say Pakistan has apparently tipped off militants at two more bomb-building factories in its tribal areas, giving the terror suspects time to flee, after U.S. intelligence shared the locations with the Pakistani government. Those officials believe Pakistan's insistence on seeking local tribal elders' permission before raiding the areas may have most directly contributed to the militants' flight, though they also suspect low-level security officials may have tipped the militants off.

U.S. officials have pushed for Pakistan to keep the location of such targets secret prior to the operations, but the Pakistanis say their troops cannot enter the lawless regions without giving the locals notice. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss matters of intelligence. The latest incidents bring to a total of four bomb-making sites that the U.S. has shared with Pakistan only to have the terrorist suspects flee before the Pakistani military arrived much later. The report does not bode well for attempts by both sides to mend relations and rebuild trust after the U.S. raid on May 2 that killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, a Pakistani army town only 35 miles from the capital Islamabad.

The Pakistanis believe the Americans violated their sovereignty by keeping them in the dark about the raid. American officials believe bin Laden's location proves some elements of the Pakistani army or intelligence service helped hide the al-Qaida mastermind, bolstering their argument that the raid had to be done solo. The U.S. officials explained Saturday how they first offered the location of the third, and then the fourth site, in order to give Pakistan another chance to prove it could be trusted to go after the militants.

In the tradition of `trust but verify,' the Americans carefully monitored the area with satellite and unmanned drones, to see what would happen, after sharing the information a third and fourth time, the officials said. In each case, they watched the militants depart within 24 hours, taking any weapons or bomb-making materials with them, just as militants had done the first two times. Only then, did they watch the Pakistani military visit each site, when the terror suspects and their wares were long gone, the officials said.

This is not a Democrat problem; this is not a Republican problem; this is not a human rights issue. We could continue to give aid to this country and the leaders of the day would get rich. It never benefits the people but we do not learn. This country and entire region of the world has its way of governing; we will never change that and should stop trying to change it. We view this like we view many problems, such as public education, just throw money at it it will get fixed. We never fix anything we just create a more expensive problem.

On June 20th through the recent years;

1986 Drs at Bethesda Naval remove 2 small benign polyps from Reagan's colon.
1987 Johnny Carson marries 4th wife Alexis Mass.
1988 NYC WABC-AM becomes the flagship radio station of the NJ Devils.
1988 Price is Right model Janice Pennington is knocked out by a TV camera.
1990 40,000-50,000 die in a (7.6) earthquake in Iran.
1990 Nelson Mandela lands in NYC to begin a tour of the US.

Two items I missed from yesterday, which was the anniversary of them;

1846 - The first organized baseball game was played on this day. The location was Hoboken, New Jersey. The New York Baseball Club defeated the Knickerbocker Club, 23 to 1. This first game was only four innings long. The New York Nine, as the winners were known, must have really studied the rules to have twenty-three runs batted in. The rules had been formulated just one year earlier by a Mr. Alexander Cartwright, Jr.

1865 - It took more than two-and-a-half years after Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation went into effect for Union troops to land in Galveston, Texas. They carried the message of freedom, the resolution of the Civil War between the States, to the many slaves throughout Texas. Union Major General Gordon Granger read General Order #3: “The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired labor. The freedmen are advised to remain quietly at their present homes and work for wages. They are informed that they will not be allowed to collect at military posts and that they will not be supported in idleness either there or elsewhere.” The slaves rejoiced with cheers and tears as they learned of their liberation, calling their “day of deliverance,” Juneteenth, a day still celebrated by black families and communities throughout the world.

June 19 is … World Sauntering Day

Happy Father’s Day. Go to the web address below for an American moment of pride; grab a Kleenex first.

I have sauntered over to my computer this morning. Have you sauntered yet?

To all Fathers, sons, daughters, wives, husbands, mothers, relatives and friends of military personnel, go to this web site and enjoy a three minute break. Make sure your speakers are on.

I sometimes feel I want to get something off my chest or I want to express my opinion on a subject. That should be obvious to anyone who has ever read my blog in the past. Today is one of those occasions. Not every blog will contain light-hearted or fluff material.
The slaughter in the Middle East is not our affair. Why should we or do we care. We have slaughter in America I write about nearly every other day. Below is a story written in a Spanish newspaper over three years ago. I did not write it but I did read it and gave it some thought. History is nothing else but a lesson in life to be learned from. This is not meant to offend but if it does, get over it.
The truth cannot be ignored out of political correctness. The news yesterday reported the United States is negotiating with the Taliban to end the Afghanistan war. We could not beat them, a lesson Russia discovered thirty years ago and we ignored. Bin Laden was not worth billions of dollars or hundreds of American lives but we did it anyway. When we did find and kill bin Laden, he was not in Afghanistan but rather hiding in plain sight in Pakistan.

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodriguez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15, 2008. It doesn't take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe - and possibly to the rest of the world.

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ By: Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez

I walked down the street in Barcelona , and suddenly discovered a terrible truth—Europe died in Auschwitz . . . We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world. The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned. And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride. They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts. And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs. What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe . Approximately 1,200,000,000; that is ONE BILLION TWO HUNDRED MILLION or 20% of the world's population.

The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims. The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew who has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew who protests by killing people. The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels. Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems. Muslims must ask 'what can they do for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects them.

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel's part, the following two sentences really say it all: 'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel ." Benjamin Netanyahu

General Eisenhower Warned Us—It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead. He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now —get the films—get the witnesses—because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.'

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it. It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the, 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way. Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets. This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world. How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center 'NEVER HAPPENED' because it offends some Muslim in the United States ?

Koala Bears

JUNE 18, 2011
BRUCE A. BRENNAN BLOG FROM THE WORLD AND MY MIND
The news as I see it and the views as I want them.
June 18 is … International Panic Day

President Nixon should have panicked after Watergate Day. It would have saved everyone a lot of trouble. Yesterday was Watergate Day because on June 17, 1972 five men were caught burglarizing the Democratic National Headquarters located in the Watergate Hotel and Office Complex in Washington DC. The result was a Constitutional crisis in this country unprecedented before or since. No worry, however, President Obama still has 18 months to cause one.

What will we do without koala bears? I am glad I will not be around to see the world without them in the wild. The koalas are disappearing. Fast. According to Le Monde magazine despite a number of factors threatening the small marsupial, it seems the Australian government is hesitant to place it on the endangered species list. The problem is getting so bad that in some places in Australia the population has been reduced to 20% of what it once was.

But what's killing the koala is a bit surprising. While climate change and urban development have perhaps had the biggest impact on the animal, a third factor is also pushing it towards extinction, according to the Telegraph, chlamydia.

The bacterial infection, which is commonly known as a sexually transmitted disease among humans, has been decimating the koala population. Some estimates say koalas could go extinct in less than 30 years, according to the Telegraph.

Though it's true that in some areas the koala population has not significantly decreased, many of the local population are the result of reintroduction by conservationists, according to Le Monde. The lack of genetic diversity in the region as a result doesn't guarantee the creature's continued survival.

Yet the government hasn't taken significant steps to protect the animal, despite how much of a symbol it is for Australia, they are even on the country’s money. According to the report in Le Monde, the issue has finally reached the Australian senate, but won't be decided until August, when a special committee is expected to issue a recommendation.

For years one of the biggest killers of koalas has been death by falling from eucalyptus trees. It seems the koalas sit in the trees and eat the eucalyptus which causes a chemical reaction in them resulting in them getting intoxicated. They are loaded, lose their balance, fall and are killed.

Earlier this week, bin Laden’s successor was named. It was the number 2 guy, as expected. It seems appropriate since he looks like # 2. Al-Qaeda has selected its longtime No. 2 to succeed Osama bin Laden following last month's U.S. commando raid that killed the terrorist leader as he cowarded behind a woman, according to a statement posted Thursday on a website affiliated with the network.

Ayman al-Zawahiri or some other similar nonsensical name, who will turn 60 next week, is believed to be operating from somewhere near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. He is the son of an upper middle class Egyptian family of doctors and scholars. His father was a pharmacology professor at Cairo University's medical school and his grandfather was the grand imam of Al-Azhar University, a premier center of religious study.

In a videotaped eulogy released earlier this month, al-Zawahiri warned that America faces not individual terrorists or groups but an international community of Muslims that seek to destroy it and its allies.

"Today, praise God, America is not facing an individual, a group or a faction," he said, wearing a white robe and turban with an assault rifle leaned on a wall behind him. "It is facing a nation than is in revolt, having risen from its lethargy to a renaissance of jihad." He continued, “Blah blah blah”

Al-Zawahiri also heaped praise on bin Laden, who was killed in a May 2 raid by U.S. Navy SEALs in the Pakistani garrison town of Abbottabad, and criticized the U.S. for burying him at sea. "He went to his God as a martyr, the man who terrified America while alive and terrifies it in death, so much so that they trembled at the idea of his having tomb," he said.

Al-Qaeda gave no details about the selection process for bin Laden's successor but said that it was the best tribute to the memory of its "martyrs." I am sure it was a democratic game of hot potato.

The statement announcing al-Zawahiri's succession was filled with the terror network's usual rhetoric, vowing to continue the fight against what it called "conquering infidels, led by America and its stooge Israel, who attack the homes of Islam." The group also said it will never accept Israel's legitimacy and will continue to support Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq and North Africa. The al-Qaeda statement also stated the group's support for this year's popular uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Syria and Libya. "We encourage the people of Islam to rise up and continue the struggle, persistence and devotion until all the corrupt and oppressive regimes imposed by the West are gone," it said.

Rep. Weiner is cooked!

JUNE 17, 2011
BRUCE A. BRENNAN BLOG FROM THE WORLD AND MY MIND
The news as I see it and the views as I want them.
June 17 is … Watergate Day and Eat Your Vegetables Day

Nixon should have eaten some Humble Pie. Is Humble a vegetable?

Speaking of Humble Pie, Rep. Weiner (D-NY) finally bit the big one and resigned. Apparently he heard the laughter and disgust that became associated with his name. He is now officially the answer to a cocktail party joke. I was one day off in my information. His wife did not “Stand by her Man.” at any news conference. Weiner also did not indicate he was going to seek any treatment for whatever he thinks he has. I think he just has a case of being an asshole.

One person who is doing her best to make a difference; when Sherrie Gahn became the principal of Whitney Elementary in Las Vegas, she was shocked to see students eating ketchup packets. When she realized it was because many of her students were grappling with homelessness, she committed herself to doing something for them and their families.
CBS News reports that nearly 85 percent of Whitney students are homeless, but Gahn makes sure their basic needs are met.

I find it hard to believe nearly 85% of the students are homeless. What per cent are illegal and just cannot report an address for fear of deportation?

"I told the parents that I would give them whatever they need," Gahn says. "All I need them to do is give me their children and let me teach them. In turn, I will give you food and clothes and we will take them to the eye doctor. I will pay your rent, pay your utilities, but keep your child here."

Under Gahn's leadership, Whitney provides disadvantaged children with items that range from free clothes to free haircuts, and operates a functioning food bank that distributes food to students for the weekends.

According to a CNN article published last year, the school has even provided financial assistance to families with overdue bills. Shirley Hernandez, whose grandchildren were students at Whitney, told CNN the school made it possible for her family to have Christmas.

Scholastic reports that Gahn's efforts have made an impact -- students have doubled their scores in reading proficiency on standardized tests since Gahn became principal. She believes that this increase is not only a result of students' needs being met, but also because the school fosters support that gives students hope for the future.

"They have food in their bellies that they would not have had, they have clothes on their back they wouldn't have had and for the first time someone believes in them. It's beyond food and clothing," she said.

As a growing number of families fall victim to the recession, public schools are reporting sharp increases in the numbers of homeless students. Unlike Whitney students, however, many homeless children have difficulty succeeding in school. An article in the NY Times highlights that homelessness causes increases in high school dropout rates. In Virginia, 21.2 percent of students who are homeless at some point during their high school years drop out, compared with 14.8 percent of all poor children, the state's Department of Education says. In Colorado, the high school graduation rate is 72 percent for all students, 59 percent for poor students and 48 percent for homeless students, according to data from the state's education Web site.

Faced with growing budget deficits, the federal government is unable to fund the rising numbers of homeless students who need help. According to The National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth (NAEHCY), the Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) programs that schools depend on to assist their homeless students, is short $10 million. In the past this has left more than 300,000 homeless children without services.

This is why Gahn decided not to rely on government support to fund her programs. She told the Las Vegas Sun: "I've never looked to the state ... I've shied away from that because I need to sustain [the program] in the long haul. With budgets the way they are, I didn't know if they would." Instead, she is backed by volunteers and members of the community who care about the cause. She has also partnered with nonprofits, including local charity Caring for Kids, who helps deliver food to Whitney students.

Gahn has recently enlisted the help of Nevada first lady, Kathleen Sandoval, to help create an after-school program modeled after the work Sandoval does with her nonprofit The Children’s Cabinet. According to the Las Vegas Sun, the program will be the first of its kind in Las Vegas.

"This gives them someplace to go where they feel they are productive, where they can actually produce something and do something useful," [Gahn] said. "Hopefully, that will lead them to a job or staying in school." The program is set to be implemented next fall, when Whitney will welcome the next round of students in need. Those who have passed through its doors are not forgotten, however. Gahn told CBS that she has made a promise to all her students -- if they graduate from high school and cannot afford college she will help pay their tuition.

Gahn says the children are worth the big promise. She defines success as "the look in their face that I made their life better. That's my success rate when they hug me and thank me for the food, the clothes. Then I know it's a good day."

Pakistan just will not play well with others.

JUNE 16, 2011
BRUCE A. BRENNAN BLOG FROM THE WORLD AND MY MIND

June 16 is … National Hollerin' Contest Day

Sueee, Sueeeee, Sueeeeeeeeeeeeh!

Way to go Boston Bruins. They won the Stanley Cup, beating Vancouver in Canada to keep the Cup in the United States. The Blackhawks are no longer the defending Stanley Cup champions.

If we ever pay Pakistan another penny in aid, we are the stupidest people on this planet and there are plenty to choose from.

Pakistan's intelligence service has arrested the owner of a safe house rented to the CIA to observe Usama bin Laden's compound before the U.S. raid that killed the Al Qaeda leader, as well as a "handful" of other Pakistanis, a U.S. official said late Tuesday. In Pakistan, a Western official confirmed a New York Times report that five of the Pakistani informants who fed information to the CIA before the May 2 bin Laden raid were arrested by Pakistan's top military spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence agency, known as ISI.

The officials spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence matters. The Times, in an article posted on its website late Tuesday, said the detained informants included a Pakistani army major who officials said copied the license plates of cars visiting bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad in the weeks before the raid.

The Pakistani army denied Wednesday that one of its majors was among a group of Pakistanis who Western officials say were arrested for feeding the CIA information before the American raid that killed bin Laden. The Pakistan government is known for its truthfulness. No, wait, it is known for its circus clown act, that’s it.

Pakistani army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas denied an army major was arrested, saying the report was "false and totally baseless." His nose seemed to grow bigger as he spoke. Neither the army nor Pakistan's spy agency would confirm or deny the overall report about the detentions.

The group of detained Pakistanis included the owner of a safe house rented to the CIA to observe bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, an army town not far from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, a U.S. official said. The owner was detained along with a "handful" of other Pakistanis, said the official. The Western officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence matters.

The fate of the CIA informants who were arrested was unclear, but American officials told the newspaper that CIA Director Leon Panetta raised the issue when he visited Islamabad last week to meet with Pakistani military and intelligence officers. In Islamabad, an ISI spokesman, who customarily speaks anonymously, declined to comment. U.S.-Pakistani relations have been strained over the raid by Navy SEALs on Pakistani territory, which was a blow to Pakistan's military, and other issues. Officials said the arrest of the informants was just the latest evidence of the fractured relationship between the two nations. The overall “just pay us” attitude of Pakistan appears to be another.

The Times said that at a closed briefing last week, members of the Senate Intelligence Committee asked Michael Morell, the deputy CIA director, to rate Pakistan's cooperation with the United States on counterterrorism operations, on a scale of 1 to 10. "Three," Morell replied, according to officials familiar with the exchange, the newspaper said.

American officials speaking to the Times cautioned that Morell's comment was a snapshot of the current relationship and did not represent the Obama administration's overall assessment. This guy should be fired and Obama should be impeached if he truly believes Pakistan is our friend.

This would be funny if it were not true. This is a costly prime example of government greed and criminals in our government. Federal auditors conceded that $6.6 billion in cash sent to Iraq in cargo planes after the US-led invasion could have been stolen, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.

The money was part of a $12 billion haul that the George W. Bush administration sent to Iraq in the months following the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime to pay for reconstruction and support government services. After repeated investigations into the missing funds since 2005, federal auditors in Washington are now suggesting the cash may have been stolen, not just mislaid in an accounting error. It could be "the largest theft of funds in national history," according to Scott Bowen, special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction.

Pentagon officials have testified that reconstruction money was not closely monitored during the chaotic post-invasion period of 2003-2004. Millions of dollars was stuffed into sacks and loaded on pickup trucks before being delivered to contractors and government departments, they said. In 2005, House Government Reform Committee investigators said there was "evidence of substantial waste, fraud and abuse in the actual spending and disbursement of the Iraqi funds."

The United States' inability to account for the cargo plane cash is causing tension with the Iraqi government, which is threatening to take the US to court. Iraqi officials say the US was responsible for safeguarding the money -- which came from Iraqi oil sales, seized Iraqi assets and the United Nations' oil-for-food program -- under a 2004 legal agreement it signed with Iraq. "Congress is not looking forward to having to spend billions of our money to make up for billions of their money that we can't account for, and can't seem to find," Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Beverly Hills) told the Los Angeles Times.

Special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction Stuart Bowen told the Times the missing money may represent "the largest theft of funds in national history."

It was not, it is crucial to note here, U.S. tax-payer dollars which have gone missing in Iraq. The money came from a special fund set up by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York with Iraq's own money -- funds which were withheld from the nation during a decade of harsh economic sanctions under Saddam.

Now and here's the real kicker, Iraq wants it's money back. The Los Angeles Times says some officials in Baghdad have threatened to take the U.S. government to court to reclaim the missing loot. The last known holder of the funds, before they mysteriously disappeared into the dusty oblivion of post-war Iraq, was the U.S. government.

"Congress is not looking forward to having to spend billions of our money to make up for billions of their money that we can't account for, and can't seem to find," Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) told the Times. Waxman was head of the House Government Reform Committee which held hearings on U.S. waste, fraud and abuse in Iraq about six years ago. Bowen has been a harsh critic of the way the U.S. government spent money in Iraq following the ouster of Saddam.

The United States has spent $61 billion on reconstruction and development in Iraq since the US-led invasion.

We are talking about 6.6 billion dollars. This cannot just be swept under the rug or chalked up to an accounting error. People need to go to jail for this including government people who were overseeing this fiasco. The spin that it is really not taxpayer’s money will turn out to be a lie, like it always does.

Just a couple of thoughts I had.
