June 11 is … National Hug Holiday and King Kamehameha Day

My son Lucas is getting married today. What better day than National Hug Day. He is marrying a lovely lady named from Joanne. They will reside in Schaumburg.

I thought today I would just provide Grooveshark links to several love songs; songs you may hear at a wedding. Grab the closer lover, snuggle and listen up.

CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK, LUCAS and JOANNE.

He is marrying well, a lovely young lady named Joanne. They will reside in Schaumberg. Joanne is marrying well also.

Just a couple of thoughts I had.

Newt's time is dwindling?

June 10 is … National Yo-Yo Day

This has nothing to do with tomorrow, I hope. I will take a couple of days off although I am likely going to post something. Once I recover from my oldest son’s wedding to the lovely and talented Joanne, I will be back fresh and fluffy.

So Newt, how’s that run for the Republican presidential nomination going? Your economic policies have already cost most of your supporters their jobs. Due the intelligent thing, like Trump did, get out of the race. Your time is over. Nobody wants to live in the nineties again.

Tomorrow is the running of the last leg in the Triple Crown, The Belmont Stakes, at Belmont Park. Here are the post positions for Saturday’s 143rd running of the Belmont Stakes.

Post 1: Master of Hounds, Garrett Gomez, 10-1 – Master of Hounds has drawn the lucky No. 1 post, which has produced a record 23 winners in this race. This three-year-old colt, who took fifth in the Kentucky Derby, will likely need a little luck considering he has no wins to his name.

Post 2: Stay Thirsty, Javier Castellano, 22-1 – 11 Belmont winners have come from the second position. Stay Thirsty is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 12th-place showing in the Kentucky Derby. Trainer Todd Pletcher won the 2007 Belmont Stakes with filly Rags to Riches.

Post 3: Ruler On Ice, Jose Valdivia Jr., 25-1 – The No. 3 post is responsible for 13 Belmont winners, a figure that is tied for second all-time with post No. 5. This three-year-old gelding has finished third or better in each of his last four races.

Post 4: Santiva, Shaun Bridgmohan, 15-1 – Nine Belmont winners have started from the fourth position. If Santiva hopes to be the 10th, he’ll have to bounce back from a sixth-place showing in the Kentucky Derby.

Post 5: Brilliant Speed, Joel Rosario, 20-1 – This marks the first time the first seven finishers in the Kentucky Derby will run in the Belmont. Brilliant Speed finished seventh in the Derby. 13 Belmont winners have come from post No. 5, which is tied with the third post for the second-most all-time.

Post 6: Nehro, Corey Nakatani, 9-2 – We have seen seven Belmont winners break from post No. 6. The Kentucky Derby runner-up is looking to end a string of three consecutive second-place finishes with the second win of his career.

Post 7: Monzon, Jose Lezcano, 35-1 – 12 Belmont winners started their journey at post No. 7. This gelding will be looking for his third win in eight races when he breaks from that post Saturday.

Post 8: Prime Cut, Edgar Prado, 25-1 – Six winners of the third leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown have come from post No. 8. Prime Cut has rattled off six straight finishes of third or better.

Post 9: Animal Kingdom, John Velazquez, 3-1 – This marks the first rubber match between the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winners since 2005. Jockey John Velazquez and Animal Kingdom will leave form the No. 9 post, which has produced just four Belmont winners since 1905. Animal Kingdom is trying to become the first horse since Thunder Gulch (1995) and the 12th overall to pull off the Kentucky Derby-Belmont Stakes sweep.

Post 10: Mucho Macho Man, Ramon Dominguez, 15-1 – Only two winners of the Belmont in history have come from the 10th position. The third-place finisher in the Kentucky Derby could be the third. He has taken third or better in eight of 10 career races.

Post 11: Isn’t He Perfect, Rajiv Maragh, 45-1 – Just two Belmont winners have come from post No. 11 as well. Isn’t He Perfect is looking to bounce back from a ninth-place finish in the Preakness Stakes.

Post 12: Shackleford, Jesus Castanon, 5-1 – Shackleford is trying to become the 22nd horse to pull off the Preakness Stakes-Belmont Stakes sweep. History, however, may not be on his side as no Belmont winner has ever come from post No. 12.

I am going to stay with Stay Thirsty for the Belmont. He has a good post and is due for another big race. None of the horses have ever run the mile and half of the Belmont. It is not a popular distance in this country. It is a long race. The race leader can change four or five times in the stretch. Front runners and speed horses typically fade after the first mile.

Good luck and Stay Thirsty my friends.
From the left coast, the land of fruits and nuts, comes a story that should be comical if it were not so serious and involve child molestation. A man is posing with a fake police badge to prey on young girls, reports CBS Los Angeles.
So far, two girls from Lawrence Middle School in Chatsworth, California have come forward about their experience. In one incident, he tried to arrest a girl and then molested her. In a second incident, he tried to trick another girl into letting him put a "tracking device" in her bra. Both sixth-graders were walking home alone from school when the man approached them. No “tracking devices” are allowed in bras. They will not get thru metal detectors at school.
But ABC 7 reports that police have interviewed even more victims, and that there may be others who have not come forward yet. Police are currently working on a suspect sketch based on interviews with students and encourage the public to always request picture identification in addition to a badge when approached by the LAPD.
The suspect has been described as either Hispanic or Asian with brown eyes and brown hair. He's about 5 feet 5 inches tall, and in once incident he was wearing a Superman shirt, reports KTLA. Police are confident he is not Superman although they have issued a lookout for Clark Kent.
When this pervert is captured, the first thing that should happen is that he accidentally fall down a few flights of stairs while in restraints. He should then be castrated and a “tracking device” should be surgically implanted in his rectum.

Just a couple of thoughts I had.

Weiner's wife is pregnant. John Edwards taught Weiner all about love and devotion.

June 9 is … Donald Duck Day

It appears the weather has broken just in time for Donald Duck Day.

Speaking of goofy ducks, do you remember the Octomom, the ignorant, unethical baby-making machine that does not work. She has $450,000.00 balloon payment coming due on her mortgage. Surprise, surprise, she cannot make the payment. She has decided to stage a bikini car wash with two porn star types. This woman is ugly. Who would pay to see her half naked? I might pay her to put her clothes back on.

They will charge $30.00 for the most expensive SUVs. That means she will have to wash 15,000 cars to pay the balloon payment. That does not take into account what the other bimbos want or the cost of car wash liquids or water or buckets or anything else.

FYI, the doctor that advised her and gave her the fertility drugs has lost his doctor’s license in California as of July 1, 2011. Also, shouldn’t we fire the banker that gave this whore a mortgage on a home worth at least $450,000.00?

Tiger Woods announced he would miss this year’s United States Open in golf. The U. S. Open, which always is scheduled to end on Father’s Day, is next week-end. The sport badly needs him back. The one-size-fits all foreign players monopolizing the game are turning people off. TV ratings are down. Attendance is down. Purses are going down. We need Tiger and a few more guys like Bubba Watson and Jim Furyk to right the ship. The United States should not give up its dominance in golf without a fight.

In New York they are ramping up the search of the causeway trying to locate more victims and clues about the serial killer or killers responsible. Good thing they found Sonny Corleone when he was massacred on the causeway. You remember Vito Corleone in the morgue whispering through his tears to the undertaker and Tom Heyden, “Look how they massacred my boy.” The Godfather, it is worth another watch.

Delta Airlines is getting bad press over a report it charged military people returning from Afghanistan an extra bag fee. Delta has a contract with the government to provide flights to military personnel flying under orders. Delta charged a $200.00 fee for all bags over the allowed three. The fees totaled $2,800.00.

Joe Davis, director of public affairs for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, in a statement. "We know this is a business issue and that the troops will be reimbursed if they are authorized additional baggage in their orders, but the shock of even being charged is enough to make most servicemen and women simply shake their heads and wonder who or what it is they are protecting."

This is an over-reaction. If you owned stock in Delta, it is clearly a business decision. As it turns out, Delta was in error in charging the fees and has revised its policy for service personnel. A low level check-in clerk made a mistake and it was corrected. The soldiers should get paid travel at government expense not at the expense of private industry. It was an unfortunate mistake but do not crucify Delta Air Lines for a mistake corrected almost immediately.

Well now this really screws the pooch. The New York Times reports that Huma Abedin, wife of embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner, is pregnant with their first child. The 35-year-old is in the early stages of pregnancy, according to three people with knowledge of the situation, the Times reported. Earlier today, a graphic photo of Weiner was leaked, two days after he admitted sending racy pictures to women online. The congressman has said he does not plan to resign. The New York lawmaker signaled at a press conference on Monday that he has no intention of splitting with his wife in the wake of the scandal.

Tomorrow I will give you my pick for Saturday’s Belmont Stakes, the one and a half mile, final leg of the Triple Crown from New York. Now, however, I will pick the filly to win the Acorn Sakes, which will be run Saturday unlike the first two Triple Crown races that run their female race on Friday. I am picking #1 Her Smile, a Virginia bred three year filly running in the one mile Grade I race.

Just a couple of thoughts I had.

Was Weiner sending suggestive photos to a minor?

June 8 is … Name Your Poison Day

Katie Couric's contract with CBS expired on Monday, and she's widely expected to announce that she's signing a deal with ABC to host a syndicated daytime talk show. 'The New York Times' reports that both NBC and CBS held unsuccessful talks with Couric, who remains a hot property despite disappointing ratings during her tenure at 'The CBS Evening News.'

She did, in fact, sign a contract with ABC on Monday to host a day-time talk show. She is taking a time slot currently filled by a soap opera. Couric is another Oprah wannabee that will crash and burn.

The United States Supreme Court is showing its conservative and American side. Thank you. It is about time. The Supreme Court ordered a federal appeals court on Monday to take a new look at a Pennsylvania city's crackdown on illegal immigrants in light of the high court's recent decision upholding an Arizona employer-sanctions law.

The high court threw out a ruling by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that prevented the city of Hazleton from enforcing regulations that would deny permits to business that hire illegal immigrants and fine landlords who rent to them. The measures inspired similar laws around the country, including the one in Arizona that deals only with penalties for employers.

The justices typically order lower courts to re-examine cases in light of a high court decision on a similar topic. The Philadelphia-based 3rd Circuit ruled in September that Hazleton's Illegal Immigration Relief Act usurped the federal government's exclusive power to regulate immigration.

"It is ... not our job to sit in judgment of whether state and local frustration about federal immigration policy is warranted," wrote Chief Judge Theodore McKee. "We are, however, required to intervene when states and localities directly undermine the federal objectives embodied in statutes enacted by Congress."

The Supremes are having a comeback tour.

In more proof governments cannot be trusted, no matter what government or what level of government, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh's injuries from a rocket attack on his palace at the weekend were more serious than previously reported, a Yemeni official said, raising further questions about his ability to continue to rule. I doubt he will ever retake power if for no other reason than the vice president who took over has been waiting eleven years and he isn’t giving the power back now. He doesn’t have eleven more years to wait.

Saleh was initially said to have received a single shrapnel wound, and his vice president was quoted on Monday as saying the president would return to Yemen within days from Saudi Arabia where he is being treated. The Yemeni official reiterated comments by a U.S. official, saying Saleh was in a more serious condition with burns over roughly 40 percent of his body. Britain called on Tuesday for an orderly transition of power from Saleh. In the capital Sanaa, thousands of protesters gathered in front of the Yemeni vice president's residence on Tuesday, demanding the acting leader for wounded President Ali Abdullah Saleh form a transitional council to create a new government. This is similar to the disinformation our government sponsors continually and like the Japanese government’s initial lies about the earthquake caused nuclear generator problems.

Even the women in the Middle East got balls. Lawyers for Moammar Gadhafi's daughter have filed lawsuits in Paris and Brussels over the alleged assassination in late April of four of the Libyan leader's relatives in NATO bombing raids over Tripoli. Attorneys for Aisha al-Gadhafi say the complaints do not name a specific defendant, though an official at the state prosecutor's office in Brussels told The Associated Press that the text appears to target the Atlantic military alliance – which is based in the Belgian capital. State prosecutors said Tuesday that officials are assessing whether the case can be admitted. NATO aircraft have been leading bombing raids over Libya under a U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at protecting civilians from Gadhafi's forces. If we were good enough to have killed them all, no one would be around to file a lawsuit.

A Latino gang conspired to rid a Southern California city of its black residents through intimidation, threats and violence dating back to the early 1990s to exert its influence and show its loyalty to the Mexican Mafia prison gang, according to a federal indictment unsealed Tuesday. More than 50 people were charged as authorities made early morning raids targeting the Azusa 13 gang. Federal prosecutors said the gang engaged in a host of crimes ranging from drug trafficking to hate crimes that have hobbled Azusa, a city of about 45,000 residents near Los Angeles.

"We hope that this federal case will signal the end of this racist behavior and will help vindicate all of the victims who have suffered over the years," U.S. Attorney Andre Birotte Jr. said. Sixteen of the people named in the indictment were arrested Tuesday, while another 23 were already in custody, U.S. attorney's spokesman Thom Mrozek said. Authorities were seeking another 12 suspects.

At least they are doing something about the gangs. Let it go for two years. Watch the gang on gang violence and arrest the winners. End of problem. I’ll give them the first $50.00 for bullets.

As expected, the women Weiner was cyber-stalking are coming out of the woodwork looking for their fifteen minutes and payday. The first woman, the 20 year-old from Washington State at first said she knew where the photos and messages were coming from and they were not from Weiner. I wonder how much she got to join in the initial cover-up? They were from Weiner. He said he had been doing this for around three years which means he has been doing it much longer. That means the 20 year-old was, at most, 17 when Weiner began his relationship with her. Isn’t there a law about this sort of stuff, meeting minors on the internet or social sites for the purpose of sexual gratification?

Rumors will surface soon that Weiner is gay, and I don’t mean happy.

Just a couple of thoughts I had.

June 7 is … National Chocolate Ice Cream Day

Grab some Chocolate Ice Cream for tomorrow evening. Then, on the way home, stop by Walmart and buy the Jeff Bridges version of True Grit. It comes out on DVD Tuesday. It is a fine movie, true to the John Wayne version and well worth your time. Escape to the Wild West for a couple of hours, just have enough Chocolate Ice Cream on hand. The movie has typical western violence in it but nothing to offend children or embarrass mom and dad while watching it with the kids.

The $64,000 Question, a 1955 summer replacement show, with host Hal March, premiered on this day. The first show became the most watched and talked about program on TV. Contestants had to answer 10 questions correctly beginning at $64 and doubling the amount with each correct answer upward to the $4,000 category. Getting this far got you a return trip to the show the following week. The consolation prize for an incorrect answer, after reaching the $8,000 plateau, was a new Cadillac. At this level, you got a free trip to the Revlon isolation booth where you literally sweated your way from $8,000 to $16,000 to $32,000, and finally, the big one. An expert was permitted to accompany the contestant at the $64,000 mark. If neither of them could answer the question correctly, the contestant received a consolation prize of $4,000. Questions were compiled by Dr. Bergen Evans.

This, the first of the big-money TV shows, attracted guests with unusual interests. Some of the better-remembered were Gino Prato, a Bronx, New York shoemaker who used his knowledge of opera to win $32,000, Jockey Billy Pearson, an art expert and one of the first to win $64,000, and psychologist Joyce Brothers, an expert in boxing, who won big not only in cash, but in her new career as media personality.

The biggest winner was 11-year-old Robert Strom, who won $192,000. The $64,000 Question had added three new plateaus by now and several spin-off quiz shows: The $64,000 Challenge and The Big Surprise.

On November 2, 1958 we witnessed the demise of The $64,000 Question as the quiz-show-rigging scandal ended this type of show. The real $64,000 question will always be: was the show rigged or not?

Is Dr. Joyce Brothers still around and is she still a boxing expert?

On this date in 1969 the rock group Blind Faith made its British debut at a free concert at London’s Hyde Park. Over 100,000 fans attended what was called “the most remarkable gathering of young people ever seen in England.” The group was composed of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Stevie Winwood and Rick Grech. Cream had several of the same members. They played in a White Room, with no curtains at the station.

The German government and their ‘experts’ in infectious diseases is as incompetent as ours is. First they blamed Spain but that was wrong. Sunday they said it was from sprouts grown on an organic farm in Northern Germany. On Monday, the government officials reversed course and said it was not from the sprouts. Like most of these events, by the time our ‘experts’ tell us where it came from, it will have run its course and be over with anyway. Then they will say we need to know the source to prevent another outbreak even though this has never happened before and will never happen again, most likely.

The bimbos are coming out of the woodwork in the Weinergate scandal. Mare photos and sexting messages are coming out as well as evidence Rep. Weiner has at least one alias Yahoo account. He had a press conference and admitted all the photos and messages are his. He admitted lying for the last week. He then asked for sympathy to protect his loved ones, the same ones he was behaving badly on. He said this activity has been going on for three years. This guy will not survive this scandal. He should resign now and move on. He is not sorry. He is sorry he got caught. His family should walk away from him.

In my research of Anthony Weiner, named one of the fiftieth most influential Jewish people in America, I went to his web site. It is not much of a web site. When I tried to download the Congressman’s bio, I was directed away from the site. It must be under construction, like removing all references to his wife and family values and his trustworthiness. At least that is my guess. We are watching another weirdo implode in his own ego and self-importance. I have seen this movie before. Weiner appears to be the only one who does not know how it ends.

Just a couple of thoughts I had.
