The final Oprah show is set for May 25, 2011. Who will be the final guest? It turns out the final guest will be Oprah. Apparently the ego is taking over. It seems hard to interview yourself but she is going to try. I have nothing against Oprah but I have never watched one of her shows from beginning to end. I suspect her new show will crash and burn much like her network has. President Obama will then prevent that news from being released.

Don’t forget to bet the Kentucky Oaks later today. Bet # 12, Plum Pretty.

Rodolpho Alfonso Rafaello Pietro Filiberto Guglielmi Di Valentina D’Antonguolla was born this day in 1895. How he got past the name selection process is anyone’s guess!

Rudolph Valentino became a national phenomenon and a star of unprecedented sensual attraction to women, starring in these memorable movies: The Big Little Person (1918), The Delicious Little Devil (1919) for which he earned $100 per week, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1921), Blood and Sand (1922), and his most famous, Sheik (1921), which he said he hated.

He also disliked Paramount Studios, saying he was dissatisfied with the photography, management and direction; that they did not live up to his artistic ambitions. However, by 1924, Valentino was in the top ten of box office stars. Monsieur Beaucaire, starring Valentino, was released that same year. A year later he was at the very top of the box office star list.

The leading man was just 31 years old when a perforated ulcer took his life. Tens of thousands came to view their screen idol and movie studios closed during the funeral. On the anniversary of his death, the ‘Lady in Black’ made her first of many annual appearances at his burial site. The mystery lady was never identified. Even in death, Rudolph Valentino was a superstar.

1915 - Babe Ruth hit his first major-league home run. He was playing for the Boston Red Sox at the time. ‘The Sultan of Swat’ went on to smash 714 round-trippers before he retired, as a New York Yankee, in 1935.

1937 - A student of history, a broadcaster or anyone interested in news coverage, will remember this day and the words of NBC radio’s Herbert Morrison. “Oh, the humanity!” Morrison’s emotion-filled historic broadcast of the explosion of the dirigible, Hindenburg at Lakehurst, NJ, became the first recorded coast-to-coast broadcast as it was carried on both the NBC Red and NBC Blue networks from New York City.

Today is a good day to own a Subway Shop or a Jimmie Johns store.

Governor Milquetoast has lied again and shown his true colors as an out of touch liberal hippie. In March, he said he would review the law going through the Illinois legislature making it legal to secure a concealed weapons permit. The law has not passed but on Tuesday he said he would veto it if it gets to his desk. Way to keep an open mind. I think it is about time you sign an executive order making it illegal to put any person that voted for you in prison. That would at least keep the majority of criminals and the people that travel to visit them in Chicago.

I am getting tired of the Bin Laden story but more keeps coming out. The guy is dead, dead, dead. The Navy Seals that carried out the operation were in Washington DC on Tuesday for debriefing. Some of them have met with President Obama.

President Obama, going against the majority of Americans, has decided not to release the photos of a deceased Bin Laden. He is once again showing more concern for the wishes of non-Americans than do what Americans want him to do. If certain factions of the Muslim world becomes upset with the release of the photos that would seem to tell me those are the folks we should be investigating and watching. With the money we have spent for homeland security and the trampling of many of our Constitutional rights by the increased security blamed on 911, we should be safe enough to release the photos. It also seems obvious to me that these photos will be leaked; everything gets leaked. If we release them at least we get to control the release and take the shock away from when the rest get leaked.

On Monday, the White House said bin Laden was involved in a firefight, which is why the SEALs killed rather than captured him. On Tuesday, however, White House press secretary Jay Carney said bin Laden did not fire on the SEALs. He said bin Laden resisted but offered no specifics. Bin Laden's wife rushed the SEALs when they stormed the room, Carney said, and was shot in the calf.

"Bin Laden was then shot and killed," Carney said. "He was not armed."

That was one of many official details that have changed in the two days since Bin Laden was killed. A White House transcript misidentified which of bin Laden's sons was killed – it was Khalid, not Hamza. Officials incorrectly said bin Laden's wife died in gunfire while serving as his human shield. That was actually Bin Laden's aide's wife, and she was just caught in cross fire, the White House said Tuesday. Carney attributed those discrepancies to the fog of war, saying the information was coming in bit by bit and was still being reviewed. "We provided a great deal of information with great haste in order to inform you, and through you the American public, about the operation and how it transpired and the events that took place there in Pakistan," Carney told reporters Tuesday. "And obviously some of the information came in piece by piece and is being reviewed and updated and elaborated on."

If you are Mexican or of Mexican descent or just like a party, today, Cinco de Mayo, is the day to celebrate the anniversary of the 1862 Battle of Puebla. General Ignacio Zaragoza’s troops were outnumbered three to one as they battled the invading French army. They may have been outnumbered but they had the will to win. The Mexican forces defeated Napoleon III’s army and Puebla stood.

To save Cairo, Illinois, we blew up a levee that will flood thousands of acres of Missouri farmland. This was OK by a Court that sided with Illinois and enforced an old treaty that authorized the levee destruction. As further proof that the White Sox are a very bad team, they suffered a no hitter last night, thrown against them by a guy that had never thrown a complete game as a professional. Francisco Liriano, the Minnesota Twins starter, wasn’t sharp to the point that he dominated, but he got the job done. He struck out two and walked six, and he had three-ball counts to three of the four hitters he faced in the ninth inning. Of his 123 pitches, only 66 were strikes.

Making the feat even more unlikely: The no-hitter was Liriano’s first career shutout and complete game in 95 career starts—he hadn’t even gone the distance in 110 minor league starts—and he hadn’t thrown more than 97 pitches or pitched more than 6 1/3 innings this season. Not exactly a no-hitter candidate.

One of the first false reports our government issued about Operation Geronimo is being questioned. The government said one of the helicopters had mechanical failure causing it to land. Apparently the mechanical failure was caused by the bullets being fired into it by the people in the compound. I am sure there is more to come and here is another correction. A woman killed during the raid of Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan was not his wife and was not used as a human shield by the al Qaeda leader before his death, a U.S. official said on Monday, correcting an earlier description. Now the White House has issued a third version saying Bin Laden was not armed.

The Pakistan government appears to grasp the fact everybody with a brain and many without one know the Pakistan government was providing safe haven to Bin Laden. Although they deny this the government is now claiming some credit for the killing of Bin Laden. According to Pakistani officials, the operation was a joint U.S.-Pakistani operation, but U.S. officials insisted that only U.S. personnel were involved. Apparently to be a leader in a Muslim country or a Muslim leader, you must be convinced you are smarter than everyone in the world and that no one will question what you say and you do not mind being ridiculed by the world for your arrogance and ignorance. Under Muslim law, you are encouraged to marry your cousin to keep the clan going. The centuries of inbreeding has obviously affected the intelligence genes of Muslims. They are a race of people full of imbeciles.

The short history of breast implants; since the late nineteenth century, breast implant devices have been used to surgically augment the size (volume), modify the shape (contour), and enhance the feel (tact) of a woman’s breasts. In 1895, surgeon Vincenz Czerny effected the earliest breast implant emplacement when he used the patient's autologous adipose tissue, harvested from a benign lumbar lipoma, to repair the asymmetry of the breast from which he had removed a tumor. From the first half of the twentieth century, physicians used other substances as breast implant fillers — ivory, glass balls, ground rubber, ox cartilage, Terylene wool, gutta-percha, Dicora, polyethylene chips, Ivalon (polyvinyl alcohol–formaldehyde polymer sponge), a polyethylene sac with Ivalon, polyether foam sponge (Etheron), polyethylene tape (Polystan) strips wound into a ball, polyester (polyurethane foam sponge) Silastic rubber, and teflon-silicone prostheses. In the mid-twentieth century, Morton I. Berson, in 1945, and Jacques Maliniac, in 1950, each performed flap-based breast augmentations by rotating the patient’s chest wall tissue into the breast to increase its volume. Furthermore, throughout the 1950s and the 1960s, plastic surgeons used synthetic fillers — including silicone injections received by some 50,000 women, from which developed silicone granulomas and breast hardening that required treatment by mastectomy.

A breast implant is a prosthesis used to alter the size, form, and feel of a woman’s breasts in post–mastectomy breast reconstruction; for correcting chest wall congenital deformities; for the aesthetic enhancement of the bust; and as a procedural aspect of male-to-female gender transition surgery. There are three general types of breast implant devices, defined by their filler material: saline, silicone, and composite (alternative composition). The saline implant has an elastomer silicone shell filled with sterile saline solution, the silicone implant has an elastomer silicone shell filled with viscous silicone gel, and the alternative composition implants featured miscellaneous fillers, such as soy oil and polypropylene string, et cetera. The pectoral implant is the male breast implant device for reconstructive and aesthetic enhancement of a man’s chest wall, (see gynecomastia and mastopexy). In breast reconstruction surgery, the breast tissue expander implant is a temporary breast-implant device used in staged breast reconstruction. Much of this comes from Wikipedia.

Although they are not too related, have you ever wondered where the concept of marriage came from? It is mentioned in the Bible. Marriage has been around since before recorded history. One obvious reason for it was the creation of offspring. But a far more important reason for marriage was the cementing of alliances. Difficulties abounded in the ancient world, and the more allies you had the safer you were. Marriages were the preferred method for sealing alliances between families, clans, tribes, and ultimately nations.

The idea of marriage based on romantic love is actually a relatively recent innovation. The true purpose of marriage throughout the ages was advancement of family (clan, national -- whatever) interest. That's why throughout history most marriages were arranged. There was no romance or love involved -- this was business. With the growth of pre-nuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements, marriage is becoming more business like once again.

The Bin Laden story.

Deaths of famous people on May 1, 2011: Osama Bin Laden. Adolph Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945 but it was not made public until May 1, 1945. Good riddance to both of these monsters.

The facts are started to trickle out concerning the Osama Bin Laden death mission. Over the next days and weeks different account, both true and false, will be reported. Some of the ‘facts’ as reported so far;

1. Bin Laden had been living in a mansion adjacent to a military base in Pakistan for the last four years;

2. The mansion was built in 2004;

3. The Navy Seals conducted the raid and suffered no injuries or casualties; 24 Navy Seals participated in the raid;

4. We have known Bin Laden has been living in this mansion, that had no telephone or internet, since August, 2010;

5. The United States government has actually kept a secret;

6. The mansion is in an area where many retired Pakistan military higher-ups live;

7. Bin Laden was shot in the head from close range, twice, once in the left eye;

8. Bin Laden was buried at sea within twelve hours of his death after several Muslim countries refused our offer to take possession of the body;

9. Bin Laden was given the opportunity to surrender and refused;

10. The compound Bin Laden was living in cost over one million dollars to build;

11. The mansion was surrounded by privacy walls 18 feet tall in places, topped by barbed wire;

12. The only entrance to the compound was controlled by two security gates guarded by two guards;

13. The third-floor terrace in the compound had the added security of a seven foot privacy wall;

14. All garbage generated by the compound’s residents was burned rather than hauled away for disposal;

15. The United States did not seek advice from any allies;

16. The United States did not inform any allies of this operation;

17. President Obama authorized this mission on April 29, 2011;

18. Originally, Predator Drones were going to be used but it was determined that the Navy’s elite Team Six could carry out the mission;

19. The operation took just less than forty minutes to complete;

20. The U.S. Special Forces team that hunted down Osama bin Laden was under orders to kill the al Qaeda mastermind, not capture him, a U.S. national security official told Reuters. "This was a kill operation," the official said, making clear there was no desire to try to capture bin Laden alive in Pakistan.

21 President Bush’s shirt ten years ago should have read “Wanted Dead!” instead of “Wanted Dead or alive”;

22. Two helicopters were used to transport the Special Operations team to and from the site of the firefight; one helicopter suffered mechanical failure and a third was brought in to complete the mission;

23. We destroyed the broken down helicopter so it could not be found by the terrorists to try and repair and use in propaganda about how they repelled the infidels;

24. The FBI has updated their Ten Most Wanted List. Bin Laden is now listed as deceased. Check out; http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten;

25. President Obama watched the attack on a live feed in the White House;

26. Apparently President understood the need to prove the death of Bin Laden to the world and insisted on the Special Forces operation rather than the bombing his military advisors wanted to pursue, the bombing would have disintegrated the dead, making confirmation difficult if not impossible;

27. The mission was codenamed Operation Geronimo;

28. Bin Laden, a coward to the end, used a female, probably one of his wives, as a human shield against the attackers;

29. Bin Laden fired upon the Special Forces but failed to hit anyone;

30. The Navy Seal team that conducted Operation Geronimo will not receive the 25 million dollar reward our government offered for Bin Laden’s death or capture.

Now, let’s talk about the incompetent and terrible professional baseball team on the south side of Chicago. After Sunday’s game, played on America’s newest holiday, The Bastard is Dead Day; the White Sox were 10 and 19, a winning per centage of .345. They were already ten games out of first place in the worst division in baseball. The baseball season is six months long and one month is in the books. That indicates the White Sox will finish sixty games out of first and win 56 games while losing 106. Buy your tickets now. Plenty of good seats are still available.
