May 1 is … Mother Goose Day and Save The Rhino Day

Happy Mayday and Law Day!

It has been reported one of Gaddafi’s sons has been killed by a NATO air strike. We didn’t need Viagra for that. The 29 year old student was the Libyan leader’s youngest son; three of his grandchildren were also killed in the air strike. The report comes from Libyan officials leaving its truthfulness suspect. It is also high on the “Who cares?” list.

Next Saturday is the first Saturday in May. We all know what that means-it’s Kentucky Derby Day, the day of the most exciting two minutes and 1 1/4 mile in sports. I have not settled on my pick yet but Stay Thirsty my friends.

This isn’t Columbine but America does not own the patent on school violence. Police say that a man armed with a large knife beheaded an 18-year-old woman at her school in front of her horrified classmates in eastern India. The attacker later told police he was in love with the victim but her parents wouldn't allow them to marry.

Police official Pravin Kumar Singh said Thursday that officers arrested Bijendra Kumar on suspicion of killing Khushbu, who uses only one name. He allegedly attacked her with a ceremonial curved weapon called a khukri as she was leaving her classroom Wednesday in the eastern city of Ranchi.

Authorities say the blade sliced her head off and she died instantly. Kumar was quickly mobbed by the other students and handed over to the police. Singh says Kumar told the police that he had also intended to kill himself. It seems hard to cut your own head off without a guillotine.

Apparently the new ‘reality show’ Mob Wives is not going over well with the no necks crowd. Was it hard to get your men to sign off on doing this show?" asked Wendy Williams, whoever she is. "Like, who approaches a mob wife about doing a reality show?"

"My father has a tough time with it," said Karen Gravano, daughter of Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, the former mob boss who helped take down John Gotti. "I mean, I think he feels that this is his lifestyle, but he definitely supports me and understands why I'm doing it ... But I don't think he's 100 percent happy with the show."

Renee Graziano, ex-wife to a high-ranking mobster, and daughter of Anthony Graziano, the reputed consigliere in the Bonnano crime family, likewise said her family had a difficult time with the notion of a reality show. "My father definitely isn't happy with my decision to do it. But my ex-husband, I think he supports me for the simple reason that he knows that I'm trying to come out with my own identity," said Graziano. "So, he went along with it ... after a while of begging. "

Exactly how real can this show be? If it is a reality show that is real, why aren’t we arresting somebody after every show, at least the creator who came up with this crap.

Her father must be a politician or a baseball player or Lindsay Lohan. No matter who her father is, she sure makes our state look good again? Back in December, Stacie Juris said she was looking forward to competing again in the Miss Illinois Pageant later this year, after she placed first runner up in last November’s competition.

In April, she left a department store in the Orland Square Mall with $288 worth of clothing in her purse, according to an Orland Park police report. Officers were called to the mall by security who said she tried to leave a store without paying for the items on April 4 around 1 p.m., police said. Juris, 20, of the 8100 block of Glenbrook Place in Tinley Park, was charged with retail theft.

It was a tough night to live and die in Chicago. Two people were killed and at least eight people were wounded in separate Chicago shootings late Friday into early Saturday.
CBS 2 Chicago reports that a 17-year-old girl was shot in the face while standing in the 6400 block of South Wood Street about 10 p.m. Friday. Shots were fired from across the street, and the girl was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
On the West Side, a man was reportedly shot in the leg about 10:30 p.m., he was also hospitalized in good condition following the shooting. About 30 minutes later, the Chicago Tribune reports that a 15-year-old boy was standing in the 5100 block of South Rockwell Street "when a red vehicle drove by and someone fired shots at him." The shooting was apparently gang related, and the boy's injuries were not life threatening.
Between midnight and 3 a.m., seven others were shot citywide, two fatally.
Kenneth Sims, 20, of the 2700 block of West 26th Street, was shot in the back in the 1300 block of South Blue Island Avenue, the Tribune reports. He was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. About 2:44 a.m., Ismail Robinson, 22, was found shot in the head in the front yard of a home in the 5000 block of South Drexel Boulevard, according to CBS 2 Chicago. Nobody was in custody for the shootings early Saturday. I hope the new mayor to be is paying attention. He needs to get a 9:00 p. m. curfew law passed for anyone under 18 and then vigorously enforce it. Put the man power in crime prevention rather than crime solving, especially since they don’t solve that many of these type of shootings.
Just a couple of thoughts I had.
